Woven filter fabric is purchased for a process, not just by appearance. A filter bag maker, filtration equipment OEM and end-user plant may need different fiber, weave, surface treatment and performance information. Suppliers should describe the fabric in terms that let the buyer compare it with an actual application.
Identify material and construction
For each fabric, state the fiber or material, weave or construction, width, weight and finish. Include mesh or opening information, permeability or other performance figures only when these have been measured for the relevant product. Clarify whether the fabric is standard stock, made to order or converted into a finished bag or component.
Use representative photos and provide a sample that is identified by product code and lot. If performance varies by finish or production batch, explain what is checked and how the approved sample is recorded. Avoid claiming compatibility with a process without the operating details and technical review.
Ask for the filtration conditions
Before recommending a grade, ask what material is being filtered, operating temperature, chemical exposure, pressure or flow conditions, cleaning method, equipment interface and target service life. Request the buyer’s current specification or failed sample where possible. These details help a supplier decide whether a fabric is suitable and which test information is relevant.
Quote supply and conversion clearly
A quotation should specify product code and revision, material, construction, width, quantity, roll or cut length, sample terms, packing, currency, validity, lead time and delivery basis. If the buyer wants a finished bag or a custom shape, confirm dimensions, seam or attachment details and drawing approval first.
Explain available monthly capacity, production lead time and how repeat orders are matched to the approved specification. Buyers planning a recurring program need realistic replenishment information.
Find the right industrial accounts
Potential prospects include filter bag manufacturers, filtration equipment OEMs, industrial distributors, process plants and water-treatment suppliers whose systems use the fabric you make. Send a concise technical sheet to the relevant product or sourcing team and ask whether they are evaluating an additional source.
